Well this is my second attempt at blogging. My first attempt lasted about a week and then I quit. I kind of wish I would have started this up again sooner into this pregnancy, but what can I say? It's too late now...so I'll play catch-up.
I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with this little bundle. It's been a pretty good pregnancy considering all the troubles I could be having. It's actually the BEST pregnancy I've had to date...which isn't saying a ton, but I'll take what I can get! Sure, I had all the morning sickness and pukiness and it lasted for quite a while...but all that is minor when you take in the big picture!
I was right around 13 weeks when I got my cerclage put in. It was the day before Thanksgiving. I was terrified the night before. I didn't know what to expect and the surgery wasn't scheduled until late in the afternoon so I had all morning to sit around and think of how horrible it would be. When we got there and they got my epidural in, I finally started to relax a little bit. I knew I was in good hands and the staff was amazing. Well as far as a cerclage goes, I'd have to say it went pretty well. It was uber uncomfortable and super awkward....my legs were seriously hanging in stirrups from the ceiling while I lay spread eagle on the operating table with my arms velcroed down...I guess I didn't really care at that point!! I just wanted them to get it done! While I was laying in this compromising position and I have 3 people between my legs, the anesthesiologist asks me if this is going to be my last one...I had to laugh at that! I told him to take a look at me and tell me what he thought...he guessed correctly! I healed up very quickly and really have had NO problems with it thus far...knock on wood!
I haven't had any emergency room visits YET, am still off of bedrest and am able to do almost everything I normally do (minus vacuuming, grocery shopping, exercising and lifting anything over 15 pounds)...so I am trying to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy as much as possible. I still get days where I am highly paranoid and think every little twinge is something going wrong, but for the most part, I'm doing well. I'm hanging in there and I only have 9 weeks left to go. This little baby is going to be one tough cookie.
